Lewis Faryma
Chair of the Society Board
Lewis is a Data Manager and the Information and Samples Coordinator (ISC) for bp in the North Sea with experience both off and onshore. They are a keen advocate for improvements to the UK regulatory framework pertaining to petroleum and carbon licence data.
Holding a BSc (HONS) in Earth Science from the University of Glasgow, Lewis also graduated as part of the first cohort on the joint CDA/RGU Graduate Certificate in Petroleum Data Management, with Distinction. Having benefited personally from previous professionalisation efforts, Lewis is keen to help others establish their careers and a passionate advocate for effective Data Management as a culture.

Stephan Gruijters, TNO
Deputy Chair of the Society Board
Trained as an engineer, Stephan started at TNO - Geological Survey of the Netherlands in 2000, after almost 10 years of project management in consultancy. He is involved in projects aimed at creating geo-information used in soil, groundwater and mineral resource management, risk assessments and spatial planning. In 2002 he moved into (international) projects on data management, data dissemination and standardization. Since 2009 he has been is involved in the transition of the Dutch NDR to a fully automated, web service based system for upload, storing and download of all subsurface data in the Netherlands

Patricia Herrera Torres, Independant
Director
Patricia is an experienced and versatile subsurface data management consultant with more than 25 years of experience in this field and in leading small/medium teams and IM/IT-related projects. Her last six years in Shell, she was leading a team of technical data & workflow managers, working for Exploration, Field Development and Production. Additionally, in the role of Global Learning Advisor, she has led the development of the curriculum and the content for the Technical Data Management (TDM) Discipline. Currently she enjoys mentoring in technical data management and career development.

Mark Rae, Shell
Director
Mark works in Shell as the Manager of Data Integration & Seismic and also acts as the Global Governance Lead for Shell’s Technical Data Community of Practice. He has 20+ years of experience in petroleum data management, and since joining Shell has held a variety of roles covering all of the subsurface data spectrum. Mark holds a BSc in Geology and Petroleum Geology from the University of Aberdeen. Mark is currently focused on the strategic transformation of Shell’s technical data tools, processes and capability to realise true data centricity across the upstream business.

Michaël van der Haven
Director
As VP Consulting Expert in Energy, Michaël takes the lead in tackling IT, Integration and Domain challenges in Oil and Gas for CGI and CGI’s customers. The past 15+ years have been spent as a Solution Architect building various massive data and integration platforms for the Oil and Gas industries. Making mistakes, celebrating success and backed by not just an IT, but also a domain based Reservoir Engineering background. In the last few years this has culminated in a very active contribution to the OSDU forum and the development of CGI’s Pivot: a Platform as a Service Solution based on the emerging standards for OSDU

Lars Gåseby, Shell
Deputy Director
Lars is working in Shell as a Principal Data Management Technology Advisor. He has 25+ years of experience from the EP business, most time spend in Schlumberger, ConocoPhillips and Shell. His theoretical background is a Master Degree in hardware engineering. In addition to his Shell work he is involved in various ECIM activities (see www.ecim.no) and holds a board position in the organization.
